Sussex

The Sussex Bar Mess represents the interests of barristers living and / or practising in both East and West Sussex. There are over 200 members.

The present subscription is £ 35 per annum and membership of the Circuit is a prerequisite of joining the Mess. The main court centres in Sussex are located in Lewes and Chichester.

The Sussex Bar Mess holds at least one formal dinner each year and an extremely informal Summer Garden Party in July which is an event to which members bring their partners and children. The Circuit Roadshow visits us periodically and the Mess holds a Ball in Brighton every two years.
